Hi, we’re Jason and Ed—married, still in love, still exploring, and always seeking meaning in the places we go. Together, we are The Traveling Husbands, a storytelling initiative by JAD Design Services, where we blend design, travel, and lived experience to share what it means to move through the world thoughtfully and accessibly.

Our journey together started long before this project. We’ve moved all across the U.S.—from the deserts of Arizona to the beaches of Hawaii to the forests of New England. We’ve explored Europe both separately and together, revisiting favorite cities and discovering new corners of the world with every trip. Along the way, we’ve celebrated life, weathered serious illness, and held each other through countless changes. Ed is a brain cancer survivor. Jason is an architect and educator. Our travel is personal—and it’s also professional.

We started The Traveling Husbands because our adventures—especially the hard parts—taught us something powerful: Design is never neutral. The way places are built either opens doors or closes them. Whether it’s navigating Tokyo Disney with a visual impairment, finding peace in a quiet corner of an airport lounge, or evaluating how a small-town hotel handles mobility needs, we’ve learned that inclusive design isn’t just nice to have—it’s essential.

Through videos, photography, accessibility reviews, and honest storytelling, we aim to inspire others to travel boldly and build better. Our work under JAD Design Services lets us bring these stories into the broader world of architecture, where we advocate for more inclusive environments that reflect real lives and real needs.

You’ll find us in theme parks, on ferries, in cafés, at cultural landmarks—and often just pausing to notice how it all feels. We share it all with you: the beauty, the barriers, the humor, and the healing.

Whether you're here to get inspired, plan your own trip, or rethink how we design the world—we're glad you're with us. Because at the heart of it all, The Traveling Husbands is about connection: to each other, to place, and to the possibility of something better.
