My path into architecture hasn't been a straight line, and that's become one of my strengths. I started in architecture, stepped into healthcare administration and historic preservation, and returned to design by rebuilding my career across different states. That winding journey taught me how profoundly environments influence our lives, and it instilled a respect for both people and place.

JAD Design Services grew out of that process. It's not a polished idea of what a firm should be; it's the reality of doing the work. After years designing in Hawai‘i, Arizona and Florida, my approach became clear: design should respect local climate and culture, support the people who occupy it, and bridge the gap between vision and construction.

This perspective comes from lived experience — from caregiving, from starting over, and from seeing how people actually use their homes when life is joyful, stressful or in transition. A home, a workplace or a public space needs to do more than look good. It needs to work when routines shift, when abilities change and when families grow. That's why accessibility, adaptability and inclusive design are part of everything we do.

Today, JAD Design Services offers more than residential architecture. We design homes, ADUs and small commercial buildings; breathe new life into historic structures; and provide production support, BIM coordination and permit‑ready documents to architects, builders and developers. Across every project and every sector, our goal is simple: to translate complexity into clarity, advocate for our clients, and create spaces that feel grounded, welcoming and meaningful.
